Well where to start......................
The Guardians Social Motorcycle Club is a non-profit organisation.
We are not affiliated with any other club or organisation; we are not a "support" club for any other clubs. We are an independent club. We stand on our own, we do however support the motorcycle brotherhood as a whole.
We give respect and honour to all and ask the same in return. We claim no territory or control. We love AUSTRALIA and the Motorcycle brotherhood and are here to support both while enjoying being bikers. We are not for the weak hearted or weekend warriors. This is what we are about; if you like it GREAT ----- if not........off.
We are selective in who we bring into our club. Everyone has to earn their right to wear our insignia --- it don't come free.
Our aims as a club are to unite like minded brothers/sisters with the lifestyle we choose as opposed to just motorcycling.
Guardians SMC was formed in Queensland in April 2007 after 3 like-minded friends decided that the club they were looking for did not exist and the rest is now history.
Guardians takes it name from the fact that all members are or have been a member of a protective organisation/emergency services as an employee or volunteer and any other group of men and women that work to protect others well-being or property
Guardians SMC was founded for, and exists for, the purpose of bonding all allied professions, and their families in the pursuit of the love of motorcycles and the social benefits gained there from.
Guardians SMC is also committed to the service and support of organizations that assist with, the protection of others, Veteran, and select charity issues as well as supporting the efforts of other allied Motorcycle Clubs.
As previously mentioned:
- We were founded in 2007 and are based out of SOUTH EAST QUEENSLAND.
- Guardians SMC is non-territorial, and does not support any other club in commercial enterprises.
Our Insignia
Our insignia is our interpretation of Cerberus; backround follows.
In
Greek mythology,
Cerberus or
Kerberos (
Greek ???ße???,
Kérberos), the
ker or
daimon of
Erebos was the
hound of
Hades, a monstrous
three-headed dog with a snake for a tail and snakes down his back like a mane, whose analogs in other cultures are
hellhounds. Other hell hounds included
Orthus, his two-headed brother. Cerberus guarded the gate to
Hades and ensured that spirits of the dead could enter, but none could exit.
What that means to us is that Cerberus stopped people from leaving Hades and guarded the gates so the innocent didn't find their way into the underworld by mistake, by protecting these values this is why we have him as our insignia.
Aut Honos Aut Vitas - Our Motto and way of life
The translation of Aut Honos Aut Vitas from Latin into English literally means
"My Honour My Life", which is how we try to conduct ourselves whether we are together as a club, or within our own personal lives; something that the club feels strongly about and a creed to govern our club brothers/sisters by.
